Remember WCF and webHttpBinding? It may sound like a thing of the middle-age of programming but it was onnly a few years ago. Built in full resemblance of the ASP.NET MVC runtime, Web API in upcoming version is featuring a capability that was first offered with some success by WCF and webHttpBinding. I’m talkind the possibility of attaching a URL template to each public endpoint in the service.
In Web API 2 (coming out soon with VS 2013 and along with ASP.NET MVC 5) the feature has been renamed as attribute routing. Nothing special, but good to have aboard. Read more about it in this article of mine from Redgate’s Simple-Talk.
